One great network management with MikroTik ...

MikroTik became as a popular network management system among Network Engineers around the world. It become the next choice after Cisco Networking Products. MikroTik also support CLI management, WinBox Management ( software based acess) and Web Management ( access with Web URL and manage). MikroTik also support Certification for their skill proficiency. You can get MikroTik Certification ( MTCNA,MTCINE,.....) by attending online classes and after passing exam.


Why MikroTik ?

Most of Network Engineer has been passed Cisco Certification for their professional skill. Cisco is a wonderful network management systems for it's products( i.e -- Router, Switches, VoIP, UCS ,....). Cisco Devices are known for Cisco IOS driven on it's own hardware. Likewise,MikroTik are based on it propriety Linux ( Like as Cisco IOS ) driven on it's hardware.

MikroTik was based on Linux is a good chance for Linux System Engineer and Network Engineer. Because, some commands are similar with Cisco IOS ( like routing, NATTing, VPN,.. ) and some are similar to Linux ( e.g --  DNS, DHCP Service granted commands )

I just want to say Network Engineer for one thing. Don't based on Vendor. I means, " Hey, I am just Cisco Certified and Cisco proficient. I don't want to try for another new things ( i.e- MikroTiK (or) CheckPoint (or) F5 (or) Fortigate ....). "  It was totally wrong. Cisco teaches you " the configuration logic and how to configure"...not just only for Cisco Technology. Depend on your business, It may need to Cisco or other brand. Whatever, you are the network engineer, you can do it for that.

If you have configuration logic and how to configure, you can do it without caring brand. I just want to say, don't rely on brand....just rely on logic and your experiences. Be valued you and other experiences. Here, we just carry on.....

MikroTik Support the routing protocol of OSPF, BGP, RIP protocols for your requirement. We can find it out from Routing Tab as following picture.....

In this figure, you can see your support routing protocols, connected interfaces static route and information about it. you can also try NAT by following ...

This NATTING service is like some services set of Linux ( closely configuration to iptables) ..That is why, it is also OK for Linux Administrator for configuration. Because Linux Admin love to typing commands for configure something about system. 

Not just for both Network & Linux, one of key function is Web UI configuration. It is great for Windows Server Administrator to work ( If business requirement needs). They can setup by following this

You can configure many services ( hotspot, VPNs, Firewawll, Cloud, DHCP, DNS .....) with Web UI. Configuration is so lovely. If you have experiences for Pfsense, Cisco, Netgear, D-Link, Fortigate, It is not quite difficult to you.

Based on your work requirement, you can adjust and scale-up to your Network Infra by yourself.

At this figure, top traffics are not proxying. below traffics are proxy by web proxy server. This is my requirement for my network. It is OK for me, I just want to say for everybody, " have a try for MikroTik, I am sure you will love for it".
